Yahoo Domain

Free Domain Name when You Purchase Yahoo! Web Hosting PlanYahoo hosting is as little as $7/month -- throw in a free domain registration and this is an extremely good deal. These types of free registrations with hosting are a great way to buy additional descriptive and long tail keyword domains to point to your core business website. By throwing extra weight to your main site or domain name, you are setting yourself up for a very low cost marketing strategy of your brand. Also, by obtaining all of the domains that are similar to your core brand, you are eliminating the chance for any of your competitors to offer a confusingly similar product or service. Try Yahoo domains to increase and round out your online assets.

The well-known Internet portal Yahoo! has joined the domain name business. The company now offers domain name registration services through its Yahoo! Small Business division. This sector of Yahoo is devoted to helping entrepreneurs get their businesses up and running by providing assistance like recruiting services, marketing tools and web hosting. The next reasonable step is to offer branded Yahoo domain registration. It’s another tool which will help business establish an online presence.
PC Magazine reviewed Yahoo Domains and gave it the highly-coveted Editor’s Choice Award. The published review states that “domain registration through Yahoo! Small Business is the easiest.” The statement reflects the level of service that one receives through a Yahoo Domain. It offers great features like domain forwarding, email forwarding, control panel with DNS management, and the most popular top-level domains. Knowledgeable customer service is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and the call is toll-free. In addition to this, one to five-year registration plans are available.
Yahoo! Domains also makes upgrading very easy for those who want to expand to other Yahoo! services. Customers may upgrade to receive a personal custom mailbox or business mail package which reflects the domain name. Users may also transfer their Yahoo! domain from another web host to Yahoo! Web Hosting. If the customer needs help creating an online store, they may summon the help of Merchant Solutions which is a program that will help them manage online sales.
PC Magazine said that a Yahoo Domain was the easiest. It is quite possible to claim that the service is one of the cheapest. It offers all of the aforementioned features for only $4.98 per year at the time of this writing. With so many wonderful features at such a low price, it is hard to overlook an offer like this one.

Learn how to comfort yourself

One of the first steps to cultivating a healthy emotional life is to learn what it is that soothes, calms, and nurtures your mind, body, heart, and soul.
In the course of our lives, we go through numerous learning stages. In our first two years of life, we learn to the basics of action and reaction. In the following few years, language adds a new dimension to continued motor-development. By age 11, we are able to organize thoughts, problem-solve, and perform multiple tasks. During the teenage years, concrete thought blossoms into abstract contemplation. By adulthood, we have developed a beautiful array of physical and cognitive capacities.
But, how many of us learn our emotional selves? How many have developed a keen sense of intuition and deference for emotional self-care?
Begin with knowing how to comfort yourself.
The one mainstream conversation about self-comfort tends to revolve around the topic of babies. Teaching your child to sooth himself or herself is a primary subject in parenting classes, books, and magazines. The conversation should not be limited to babies. As babies grow into toddlers, toddlers into children, children into teens, and teens into adults, the ability to comfort oneself should not be lost along the way.
Unfortunately, for many of us, it is.
A great way to begin is to make a self-nurture list. It is essential to know how to find your center when you’ve been thrown off balance by the various stressors of daily life. Over time, your list may grow, shrink, or altogether change. That’s ok—you can only begin where you are.
I will share with you part of my list in hopes that it may help you begin your own:
1. Standing in a hot shower, allowing the water to fall on the back of my neck
2. Taking a walk around the neighborhood to see the beautiful flowers that color the world
3. Talking for hours with my mother about everything and nothing
4. Curling up with my husband and feeling his heartbeat on my skin
5. Napping in the afternoon with an oversized down blanket and countless pillows

How to Get a Free Dell Laptop

Laptops are expensive, but totally essential. Modern life requires computers, and a mobile life requires laptops. Finding a free computer is as simple as knowing the right place to look. For example, Dell has a laptop giveaway offer provided you meet their restrictions.
By simply searching for Free Dell Laptop in Free.com’s search box you can sign-up quickly and choose from a multitude of offers and incentive programs. While many of these deals often involve enrolling for service, or participating a program, the chance to get an actual laptop makes this worthwhile. Because Dell laptops are on the expensive side of the freebie world, the amount that a user will need to do tends to be a bit more labor intensive than small item giveaways.
If the advice does not yield you a new laptop fast enough for you, you could always search for refurbished computers to find some majorly dicsounted laptops from Dell. Good luck!

Beauty Sleep

Beauty Sleep
The health and beauty of a good night's sleep

by Cathy Gatson
Sleeping is a necessity, not a luxury. A good night's sleep is just as crucial to maintaining wellness as is a healthy diet and proper exercise.
The Importance of Sleep
Sleep is a restorative process.  While we're sleeping, our brain is cycling through the 3 stages of sleep: light, deep and REM. Sleep restores, rejuvenates and energizes the body and brain.  Our immune systems are recharged, cells grow and repair themselves, and our bodies conserve energy.

Dangers of Sleep Deprivation
Unfortunately, to many sleep is not valued. In this "open all night" society we now live in, four out of ten Americans are trading much-needed sleep hours for longer hours at the office, gym, club and other activities which seem more important or interesting. What they may not realize is that lack of sleep takes a toll on our mental and physical well being.  Studies performed by the National Sleep Foundation show that even minimal sleep loss has a profoundly detrimental impact on mood, cognition, performance, productivity, communication skills, accident rates and general health.  For optimal functioning throughout the day, the average adult needs between seven to nine hours sleep a night.  According to the NSF, the American adult population functions on about six and a half hours of sleep per night.

Don't Sleep?
For some, lack of sleep is not a choice, but a condition. Millions of Americans suffer from insomnia.  According to the NSF, a third of Americans are using over the counter or prescription sleep aids at night.  If you suffer from insomnia, here are a few tips to help you get some shut eye:
· Pray before bedtime. The bible tells us to "Cast your burden upon the Lord. Don't go to bed with a heavy load. Give it to God. Remember Joy comes in the morning"
· Avoid caffeinated food and beverages like coffee, teas, soft drinks and chocolate 3 to 4 hours before bedtime.

· Exercise regularly, but complete your workout at least three hours before bedtime. Keep your body calm.
· Make sure your mattress is the right one for you. Flip your mattress over periodically.
· Develop a bedtime ritual. Taking a warm bath 90 minutes before bedtime will relax your body and usually make you feel sleepy.
· Make sure your bedroom is quiet and comfortable.
· Have a cup of warm milk.
· Play relaxing music.
· Go to bed and wake up the same time every day. When your sleep cycle has a regular rhythm you will feel better.

Be a Sleeping Beauty
A friend of mine once told me that a woman should present herself to her husband at bedtime like a present. Interesting.so I polled a few colleagues and found overall most husbands prefer their wives to be lingerie clad at bedtime. Nude came in a very close second and pajamas were considered very un-sexy. Wives preferred their hubbys wear only boxers to bed. Whatever your sleepwear preference, bedtime is the opportunity to prepare your mind and body for the rest it deserves. Here are a few more tips to help you sleep pretty:
· Always remove your makeup and cleanse your face thoroughly before bed (Oil of Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin). Going to bed without washing your face not only leads to mascara-stained sheets (Andrea Eye Q's eye makeup remover pads $3.50+ voted best by Allure Magazines 1999) but the dirt picked up during the day can clog pores and lead to acne.
· Brush and floss your teeth.
· Vaseline works wonders on rough spots while you sleep. Try it on feet, elbows, and knees and dab a little on your lips too.
· There are several night creams on the market now claiming to be more effective if applied at bedtime, here are a few to try: Lancome - Primoridale Intense Night Cream $41.50, Murad Perfecting Night Cream $41.50. If these prices are more than you normally spend then L'Oreal Age Perfect Night Cream and Oil of Olay ProVital night creams are available at Wal-Mart and Target. Prices range from $14 - $15.
· If you wrap your hair in a scarf at bedtime, remember to wash it regularly.
· Wear your fancy nighties to bed. Don't save them for a special occasion. You are a special occasion.
· After your bath or shower ritual slather on a lotion that relaxes you and helps you fall asleep like Origins Night-a-mins moisture lotion or Calm to Your Senses Body Souflee.
· Marilyn Monroe is said to only have worn Chanel No.5 to bed but if you prefer something a little lighter then Issey Miyake's L'Eau D'Issey Soothing Night Fragrance is a good pick.

Here's wishing you brighter days and more restful nights!

Information

Information as a concept has many meanings. The concept of information is closely related to notions of constraint, communication, control, data, form, instruction, knowledge, meaning, mental stimulus, pattern, perception, and representation. In its most restricted technical meaning, information is an ordered sequence of symbols.

Etymology

The English word was apparently derived from the Latin accusative form (informationem) of the nominative (informatio): this noun is in its turn derived from the verb "informare" (to inform) in the sense of "to give form to the mind", "to discipline", "instruct", "teach": "Men so wise should go and inform their kings." (1330) Inform itself comes (via French) from the Latin verb informare, to give form to, to form an idea of. Furthermore, Latin itself already contained the word informatioinformation in English is not clear. meaning concept or idea, but the extent to which this may have influenced the development of the word
The ancient Greek word for form was μορφή (morphe; confer morph) and also εἶδος (eidos) "kind, idea, shape, set", the latter word was famously used in a technical philosophical sense by Plato (and later Aristotle) to denote the ideal identity or essence of something (see Theory of forms). "Eidos" can also beasociatedwith thought, proposition or even concept.

As sensory input

Often information is viewed as a type of input to an organism or designed device. Inputs are of two kinds. Some inputs are important to the function of the organism (for example, food) or device (energy) by themselves. In his book Sensory Ecology, Dusenbery called these causal inputs. Other inputs (information) are important only because they are associated with causal inputs and can be used to predict the occurrence of a causal input at a later time (and perhaps another place). Some information is important because of association with other information but eventually there must be a connection to a causal input. In practice, information is usually carried by weak stimuli that must be detected by specialized sensory systems and amplified by energy inputs before they can be functional to the organism or device. For example, light is often a causal input to plants but provides information to animals. The colored light reflected from a flower is too weak to do much photosynthetic work but the visual system of the bee detects it and the bee's nervous system uses the information to guide the bee to the flower, where the bee often finds nectar or pollen, which are causal inputs, serving a nutritional function.
Information is any type of sensory input. When an organism with a nervous system receives an input, it transforms the input into an electrical signal. This is regarded information by some. The idea of representation is still relevant, but in a slightly different manner. That is, while abstract painting does not represent anything concretely, when the viewer sees the painting, it is nevertheless transformed into electrical signals that create a representation of the painting. Defined this way, information does not have to be related to truth, communication, or representation of an object. Entertainment in general is not intended to be informative. Music, the performing arts, amusement parks, works of fiction and so on are thus forms of information in this sense, but they are not necessarily forms of information according to some definitions given above. Consider another example: food supplies both nutrition and taste for those who eat it. If information is equated to sensory input, then nutrition is not information but taste is.

As an influence which leads to a transformation

Information is any type of pattern that influences the formation or transformation of other patterns. In this sense, there is no need for a conscious mind to perceive, much less appreciate, the pattern. Consider, for example, DNA. The sequence of nucleotides is a pattern that influences the formation and development of an organism without any need for a conscious mind. Systems theory at times seems to refer to information in this sense, assuming information does not necessarily involve any conscious mind, and patterns circulating (due to feedback) in the system can be called information. In other words, it can be said that information in this sense is something potentially perceived as representation, though not created or presented for that purpose.
If, however, the premise of "influence" implies that information has been perceived by a conscious mind and also interpreted by it, the specific context associated with this interpretation may cause the transformation of the information into knowledge. Complex definitions of both "information" and "knowledge" make such semantic and logical analysis difficult, but the condition of "transformation" is an important point in the study of information as it relates to knowledge, especially in the business discipline of knowledge management. In this practice, tools and processes are used to assist a knowledge worker in performing research and making decisions, including steps such as:
  • reviewing information in order to effectively derive value and meaning
  • referencing metadata if any is available
  • establishing a relevant context, often selecting from many possible contexts
  • deriving new knowledge from the information
  • making decisions or recommendations from the resulting knowledge.
Stewart (2001) argues that the transformation of information into knowledge is a critical one, lying at the core of value creation and competitive advantage for the modern enterprise.
The Danish Dictionary of Information Terms [1] argues that information only provides an answer to a posed question. Whether the answer provides knowledge depends on the informed person. So a generalized definition of the concept should be: "Information" = An answer to a specific question".
When Marshall McLuhan speaks of media and their effects on human cultures, he refers to the structure of artifacts that in turn shape our behaviors and mindsets. Also, pheromones are often said to be "information" in this sense.

As a property in physics

In 2003, J. D. Bekenstein claimed there is a growing trend in physics to define the physical world as being made of information itself (and thus information is defined in this way) (see Digital physics). Information has a well defined meaning in physics. Examples of this include the phenomenon of quantum entanglement where particles can interact without reference to their separation or the speed of light. Information itself cannot travel faster than light even if the information is transmitted indirectly. This could lead to the fact that all attempts at physically observing a particle with an "entangled" relationship to another are slowed down, even though the particles are not connected in any other way other than by the information they carry.
Another link is demonstrated by the Maxwell's demon thought experiment. In this experiment, a direct relationship between information and another physical property, entropy, is demonstrated. A consequence is that it is impossible to destroy information without increasing the entropy of a system; in practical terms this often means generating heat. Another, more philosophical, outcome is that information could be thought of as interchangeable with energy. Thus, in the study of logic gates, the theoretical lower bound of thermal energy released by an AND gate is higher than for the NOT gate (because information is destroyed in an AND gate and simply converted in a NOT gate). Physical information is of particular importance in the theory of quantum computers.

As records

Records are a specialized form of information. Essentially, records are information produced consciously or as by-products of business activities or transactions and retained because of their value. Primarily their value is as evidence of the activities of the organization but they may also be retained for their informational value. Sound records management ensures that the integrity of records is preserved for as long as they are required.
The international standard on records management, ISO 15489, defines records as "information created, received, and maintained as evidence and information by an organization or person, in pursuance of legal obligations or in the transaction of business". The International Committee on Archives (ICA) Committee on electronic records defined a record as, "a specific piece of recorded information generated, collected or received in the initiation, conduct or completion of an activity and that comprises sufficient content, context and structure to provide proof or evidence of that activity".
Records may be maintained to retain corporate memory of the organization or to meet legal, fiscal or accountability requirements imposed on the organization. Willis (2005) expressed the view that sound management of business records and information delivered "…six key requirements for good corporate governance…transparency; accountability; due process; compliance; meeting statutory and common law requirements; and security of personal and corporate information."

Information and semiotics

Beynon-Davies [1][2] explains the multi-faceted concept of information in terms of signs and signal-sign systems. Signs themselves can be considered in terms of four inter-dependent levels, layers or branches of semiotics: pragmatics, semantics, syntax, and empirics. These four layers serve to connect the social world on the one hand with the physical or technical world on the other.
Pragmatics is concerned with the purpose of communication. Pragmatics links the issue of signs with the context within which signs are used. The focus of pragmatics is on the intentions of living agents underlying communicative behaviour. In other words, pragmatics link language to action.[3]
Semantics is concerned with the meaning of a message conveyed in a communicative act. Semantics considers the content of communication. Semantics is the study of the meaning of signs - the association between signs and behaviour. Semantics can be considered as the study of the link between symbols and their referents or concepts; particularly the way in which signs relate to human behaviour.
Syntax is concerned with the formalism used to represent a message. Syntax as an area studies the form of communication in terms of the logic and grammar of sign systems. Syntax is devoted to the study of the form rather than the content of signs and sign-systems.
Empirics is the study of the signals used to carry a message; the physical characteristics of the medium of communication. Empirics is devoted to the study of communication channels and their characteristics, e.g., sound, light, electronic transmission etc.
Nielsen (2008) discusses the relationship between semiotics and information in relation to dictionaries. The concept of lexicographic information costs is introduced and refers to the efforts users of dictionaries need to make in order to, first, find the data sought and, secondly, understand the data so that they can generate information.
Communication normally exists within the context of some social situation. The social situation sets the context for the intentions conveyed (pragmatics) and the form in which communication takes place. In a communicative situation intentions are expressed through messages which comprise collections of inter-related signs taken from a language which is mutually understood by the agents involved in the communication. Mutual understanding implies that agents involved understand the chosen language in terms of its agreed syntax (syntactics) and semantics. The sender codes the message in the language and sends the message as signals along some communication channel (empirics). The chosen communication channel will have inherent properties which determine outcomes such as the speed with which communication can take place and over what distance.
More recently Shu-Kun Lin proposed a simple definition of information: Information is the amount of the data after data compression.

Why is ID so important?

What identity allows

A person's identity (and their ability to prove it) is central to almost all commercial activity. Organisations need to verify an identity before opening an account or issuing goods or services.
They need to ensure that:
  • The person applying for credit is who they say they are and lives where they claim to live.
  • The person's name and address and other details are correct.
In the UK, there is not yet a single document used nationally to prove identity. At the moment, to verify an identity, organisations use various pieces of information, including personal details such as your name, date of birth, address, mother's maiden name etc. This is in addition to a mosaic of documents and records, including passports, driving licences, birth or marriage certificates, utility bills, bank statements, payslips, educational qualifications, etc.

Stealing an identity
Your personal details and the various documents and records make you the individual person you are. Your unique identity features - your fingerprints, DNA and physical appearance - can't easily be adopted by someone else, but your other identity details and documents can.
So if fraudsters get access to enough information about you, they may be able to impersonate you and steal your identity. They could either open a new account or obtain new credit cards or loans using your identity, or 'take over' your own existing accounts by impersonating you and changing the address of your account.
The procedures used by organisations to check the information supplied by customers helps detect and prevent most identity fraud. However, some fraudulent applications are accepted due to the sophisticated techniques used by the fraudsters.

What could be done with my stolen identity?
Fraudsters are financial criminals. They are unlikely to use their own identity for their criminal activity. They will either create a new false identity, or, more commonly, will attempt to pose as someone else - someone with a clean identity, a good financial history and a reputation of settling their accounts on time.
There is no definitive profile of an identity fraudster - it could be a one-off small time crook working alone, or a large network of criminals using the proceeds to fund organised crime.
There are various reasons why a fraudster might want to steal an identity. Generally, it is:
  • To hide their real identity for financial benefit.
  • To obtain various financial benefits; bank accounts, credit cards, loans and mortgages, goods or services which they have no intention of repaying.
  • To claim benefits they are not entitled to or to avoid paying tax.
They may also need a new identity to:
  • Hide a poor financial history and avoid paying existing debts.
  • Continue various criminal activities without attracting Police attention.
  • Drive despite being disqualified.
  • Work with children.
  • Remarry and commit bigamy.
As well as small-time crooks working alone, criminal networks commit identity fraud on a large scale by using multiple identities. It is estimated that this fraud is responsible for a criminal cashflow of around £10m per day.
This money is then used by criminals to finance bigger scams.
A significant proportion of identity fraud is therefore closely linked with other crimes, such as human trafficking, illegal immigration, drug running, terrorism and money-laundering.

How is identity fraud linked to money laundering?
Criminals need to launder, or 'clean' the proceeds of their crimes - they want to get 'dirty' money into the financial system. A criminal's funds need to look as if they originate from a legitimate source, and the criminal needs to operate without being caught or arousing suspicion.
Criminals therefore need financial products, services or accounts. They are unlikely to use their own identity, as this would leave a trail back to them. This is why, under Money Laundering Regulations, financial services firms must check to ensure they 'know their customer' before opening an account or providing a service.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser Hair Removal
By using the laser’s light energy, the follicle of the hair is picked up by the light and permanently destroyed. The most common problem in man and women is unwanted hair, that is either visible or it’s a discomfort. The laser permanently treats and removes the unwanted hair on the body. The best result using a laser is when you have coarse and dark hair.

What is involved with laser hair removal?

The first step includes shaving the area to be treated and an anesthetic cream is applied to the area. The laser picks up the pigment in the follicles, damaging the surrounding follicle produced by the pulsed beams of highly concentration laser light.
The procedure it is not painful. The length of a laser session may be a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the area being treated. Any redness and swelling of the affected areas usually disappears in a short time. And most people return to normal activity right away.

Are there any risks or complications using a laser?

There are no risks or complications using a laser on the skin. The more experience the technician has, the better. Also, the person that will do the treatment should avoid exposure to the sun at least two weeks before the treatment. Keep in mind to be off any antibiotics at least seven days before treatment. If pregnant, do not have any worries, because the laser doesn’t do any damage to the fetus. The laser is the safest light out of all the lights existing.

How many treatments will I need?

Patients receive the best results when they treat the area six to eight times with four to six weeks in between.

Waxing

Waxing is a method of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. Wax is applied to the skin for removal of unwanted hair, leaving the skin smooth and silky for weeks. You will love the results.

Threading

Threading
Threading is an ancient hair removal technique that uses a 100% cotton thread which is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin, entwining the hairs in the thread, which are then lifted out from the follicle. Threading is used on the entire face, including upper lip, chin, eyebrows, sideburns, and cheeks.

Tweezing

Tweezing
Metal forceps used manually to pull hairs out by the root, one or a few at a time.

Advantages:

  • Very useful for eyebrows or stray hairs on face.
  • How long before the hair reappears after tweezing?
  • Many weeks, between 3 and 8.

7 Steps to Great Makeup

1. Avoid wearing too much
Makeup is meant to enhance features not bring negative attention to you. That's what wearing too much makeup will do; it will bring you unwanted attention. Don't wear too much of anything such as:
1. Eyeliner: dark, thick eyeliner will make you look overdone and will ruin the rest of your makeup.
2. Mascara: too much mascara looks fake and will flake. It looks especially bad if worn with thick eyeliner or dark blue eye eye shadow.
3. Foundation: Make sure your foundation is the same color as your skin. Foundation is meant to protect and give the face a smooth look. The magic word is blend.
4. Powder: The same holds true for powder - not too much. Also, be sure to blend your makeup so there are no obvious lines.
2. Lips
Apply lip liner to completely cover the lips, add color and your lipstick will stay on much longer. Make sure your lip liner doesn't show. Also, your lip color should match your skin tone; wear cool colors if you have cool coloring and warm colors if you have warm coloring. If you want to make your lips look smaller, keep your liner on the inside of your lips. However, if you decide to make your lips look larger, going outside the natural outline of you lips is a mistake. This can look quite messy and unnatural.
3. Appropriate makeup
Wear makeup that is appropriate for the occasion. If you are going to the beach you shouldn't wear the same or as much makeup as you would if you were going dancing. Also, when you are in daylight your makeup should be a lighter than when you are out for the evening.
4. Too little or no makeup
Some women don't wear makeup because they are not sure how to use it and are afraid of being overdone. If you are unsure, start will light colours in your shade. Start slowly and add one product at a time. Maybe start with foundation, add mascara, blush or lipstick. If you are not used to wearing makeup, using a lot a first may be a little too much for you, so start slowly. The bottom line is a little is better than none. If you are still unsure seek professional advice.
5. Overall look
When your makeup is completed it should look natural. That means avoiding colours that clash. If you have dark skin and hair you will look better in darker shades; light colours will make you look washed out. If your hair and skin tone are light, light colours will look better on you. Dark makeup will make you look older and harsh. If you have oily skin, first use oil control moisturizer and foundation. Then be sure to wear loose powder, keeping pressed powder with you for touch ups.
6. Hair color
Your hair color should also be in harmony with your skin. If you have dark hair and you want to add color, keep it close to the same shade. If you have light hair, use light colors. As you age your skin will lighten, so should your hair color. One last thing about hair color - if you do color you hair be sure you keep it up, don't let your roots show.
7. One last thing
Keep makeup looking fresh all day by doing regular touch ups. Don't let your makeup fade or crease. Smile!!!
